About Diamond Law and BriHOP
Diamond Law Cycling is a cycling team based out of Portland, OR and is a part of BRIHOP Cycling. The team utilizes Elite Performance Center for all its off track training needs.
Track, road, and cyclocross racing are all a focus amongst Diamond Law team members. While track is our specialty, our team represents a well-rounded and dynamic set of skills applicable to all disciplines of bike racing.
The team includes elite riders as well as seasoned master’s racers, offering both top-level skill and years of experience within the group. At the Velodrome, BRIHOP cycling has been a force to be reckoned with in the senior men and women’s fields, regularly winning weekly races and dominating the Best All-Around Rider rankings for the track in 2009 and 2010.
Diamond Law’s 2011 team members boast an impressive 21 national championships,111 state championships, and many other impressive results at regional races.
The BriHOP program existed independently for years before a team was formed. Coach Brian Abers (“Brian’s” House of Pain) has shared his experience through coaching for over 10 years, training large number of Oregon’s top level athletes at the track. With over 27 years of racing experience, Brian’s specialized knowledge of the velodrome has brought home dozens of National championships and an astounding number of state championship medals.
In 27 years, Brian has accrued 56 state championships, 28 national medals, and in 2010 finished 6th at Master’s World Championships. Brian’s former specialty the kilometer time trial, is a continued mark of excellence in the program, with athletes trained by him having the fastest kilo in the region for 14 straight years.
Diamond Law Cycling represents many of these athletes who have joined together to form their own team in order to best support each other in every race.
